Former two-time IBJJF No-Gi world champion Dante Leon of Canada was worried his parents would not let him pursue his passion as a youngster. Which is why he took extra strides to prove to them that he would be successful in 'the gentle art'.
Today, Leon is one of the most talented grapplers in the sport, and getting ready to make his debut in the world's largest martial arts organization.
Speaking to ONE Championship in a recent interview, Leon talked about having to prove himself when he was younger, and how it all worked out in the end.

The 29-year-old Pedigo Submission Fighting product said:
"Once I won Pans, it was almost like I made my case. I made my plea. And my parents, they had their rules and their standards about, you know, it has to be school [first], and you can’t slack off. You can’t be a terrible student in the programs you don’t like. You might have to pull up your socks a little bit."
Leon said:
"But, honestly, they were supportive. And when I look back, I think they took it very well."
