Tawanchai PK Saenchai knows that in order to stay on top, he must continue to evolve as an elite striker in Muay Thai. The 25-year-old reached the pinnacle some time ago but climbing the mountain is only half of the journey.
For the featherweight Muay Thai world champion, he wants to create a legacy for himself and that means keeping hold of the gold at all costs. His next title defense is set to take place at ONE 170 on Jan. 24 when ONE returns to the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.
The bout also sees the champ cross paths with a former foe for the second time as he takes on ONE featherweight kickboxing world champion Superbon.
Tawanchai was able to get his hand raised when they previously went toe-to-toe at ONE Friday Fights 46, but he knows that his challenger will not be any easier in the rematch.

During the media day in the build up to the fight, he spoke about potentially showing some new sides to his game in order to keep his opponent guessing:
"The training routine is still the same, but more intense. I've seen Superbon fight before, so I might change my style a little. Let's wait and see in the ring.

Tawanchai is rolling with the punches
2024 wasn't the best year that Tawanchai has produced following his one and only fight of the year.
He retained his world championship at ONE 167, but his rematch with Jo Nattawut saw him receive a lot of criticism from some sections of the fan base.
The world champion will now look to put this behind him by emerging victorious in another rematch.
It's a great opportunity for him to make a statement by defeating one of the top strikers in the world today for a second time.
