Three-time kickboxing world champion Marat Grigorian is prepared to have another go at the ONE featherweight kickboxing world title this year.

The Hemmers Gym representative made it two wins from three outings in 2024 with a crushing second-round knockout of Abdelali Zahidi on the organization's final card last year, ONE Friday Fights 92, on Dec. 20.

Though there are plenty of exciting challenges in the jam-packed division, the 33-year-old Armenian wizard says a trilogy against interim divisional king Superbon is the only fight that makes sense at this stage of his career if Chingiz Allazov's return is delayed.

Speaking to Nick Atkin inside the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, Marat Grigorian declared:

"Of course, that's the goal [fighting for the ONE world title]. That's the mindset. We are always preparing ourselves to get the belt, you know, and that's the key, of course. I need that belt."

The kickboxing veteran and Superbon shared the circle in a pair of world title contests at ONE Friday Fights 58 and ONE X. The Thai megastar got his hand raised on both occassions via unanimous decision.

With two defeats in his past three outings, Marat Grigorian had plenty to prove inside the Mecca of Muay Thai against the Moroccan slugger at ONE Friday Fights 92.

But he shut down any concerns about his recent form with a classic display of high-octane violence on his way to a second-round KO and a fifth overall triumph in the promotion.

Reflecting on his win during the post-fight press conference, he said:

"I was happy to be back. I was very happy to fight against Zahidi. I was a little bit surprised that he accepted the fight. He did a good job, you know. He did a good job.
"It was a little bit short notice this fight, you know. It was really last minute, but as a fighter, you accept it. You need to be always ready. And, yes, I'm happy that I took the fight. I got the chance to fight again. So it was good."
