“I need to prove myself” - Superbon says it’s always a pressure-packed situation facing off fellow Thai fighters

ONE featherweight kickboxing world champion Superbon of Thailand wouldn't face a fellow Thai fighter if it were up to him. However, this type of scenario is far from avoidable, especially in Thailand, where the world's best Muay Thai fighter reside.

Superbon is a legend and an icon in 'the art of eight limbs', and this Friday night, he will be taking on fellow Thai star Tawanchai PK Saenchai for the world title.

Speaking to ONE Championship in a recent interview, Superbon says the pressure is on as he takes on his younger counterpart in a highly anticipated rematch.

The Superbon Training Camp founder said:

"And when I fight with Thai fighters, I need to prove to myself that I’m the best fighter among them. At the end of the day, Thai fighters are still the best at this."

Needless to say, fans will watch closely as Superbon and Tawanchai face off to determine who is the best featherweight Muay Thai fighter in the world's largest martial arts organization.

It all comes to a head at ONE 170 on Friday in Bangkok.
