"I thought he was going to shoot for the takedown. But I didn’t expect him to strike and come forward. I thought he would strike going backward and then shoot for takedowns. But when I saw that he came to fight, so I needed to fight fire with fire."

ONE 170 featured two other world title fights besides Fabricio Andrade vs. Kwon Won Il 2. In the main event, Tawanchai defended his bantamweight Muay Thai world title in a rematch against ONE featherweight kickboxing king Superbon.

Earlier in the night, Nabil Anane ended Nico Carrillo's reign of terror with a first-round knockout to claim the interim bantamweight Muay Thai world title.

Who's next for Fabricio Andrade in the ONE bantamweight MMA division?

Between October 2022 and February 2023, Fabricio Andrade twice fought former bantamweight MMA world champion John Lineker.

The first fight ended with a disappointing no-contest due to Andrade's unintentional groin strike. In the rematch, 'Wonder Boy' secured a fourth-round TKO win to officially become the division's world champion.

Over the past year, Lineker has transitioned to Muay Thai, winning two fights by knockout and losing one by decision.

As for his bantamweight MMA record, the Brazilian superstar is coming off consecutive wins against Stephen Loman and Kim Jae Woong, making a trilogy bout against Andrade possible later this year.
