“I have nothing to lose” - Kickboxing newcomer Nabil Anane insists all the pressure is on former champ Petchtanong

Nabil Anane has nothing to lose against Thai legend Petchtanong Petchfergus.

After winning five in a row in the art of eight limbs — including highlight reel knockouts against Nakrob Fairtex and Kulabdam Sor Jor Piek Uthai, the 6'5" Anane will strap on the eight-ounce gloves for a showdown with one of the most accomplished strikers in Thai history.

Anane will square off with Petchtanong in a bantamweight kickboxing clash at ONE Fight Night 26 this Friday night, Dec. 6, on Amazon Prime Video.

Considering it's his first time competing in kickboxing, Anane feels like he has nothing to lose — especially when he's fighting against someone who has 359 career wins on their resume. Speaking to ONE in a recent interview, Anane said:

"I have nothing to lose in this fight. This is my first kickboxing fight while he has fought hundreds of fights."

Though a loss for Anane may not do much in the way of halting his momentum, a win could establish him as a legitimate two-sport star and a serious contender in both Muay Thai and kickboxing.

While Nabil Anane feels like he doesn't have much at stake inside the legendary Lumpinee Stadium, the same can't be said for Petchtanong.

Sitting as the third-ranked contender in the bantamweight kickboxing division, a loss for the Thai star could see him slip further away from a potential clash with reigning world champion Jonathan Haggerty.

A loss would also see his three-fight win streak against Zhang Chenglon, former ONE world champion Hiroki Akimoto, and Alaverdi Ramazanov disappear.

Will the 39-year-old Petchtanong lean on his experience advantage and add another win to his iconic career, or will Anane's size and youth win the day?
