Superlek Kiatmoo9 often starts his fights downloading his opponents' movements, but one thing changed when he faced fellow megastar Rodtang Jitmuangnon in Bangkok.

The two world champions met in an absolute super fight at ONE Friday Fights 34 in front of their hometown fans at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok.

In an interview with ONE Championship, Superlek explained how he decided he would go for broke after Rodtang's elbow strike opened up his forehead midway through the first round.

The ONE flyweight kickboxing world champion said:

"I got cut, so I had to change my game plan. I had nothing to lose at that point, and then I knocked him down. I actually cried after the fight because Rodtang and I are quite close."

Superlek, with a bloodied forehead and all, ramped up the aggression throughout the fight, and he found a huge reprieve when he dropped Rodtang with a flurry of shots near the corner.

That knockdown proved pivotal for 'The Kicking Machine' as it became a huge factor on the scorecards to get the unanimous decision win from the judges.

After his huge win over the ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion, Superlek bumped his winning streak to 10 straight fights when he added Japanese superstar Takeru Segawa and Thai slugger Black Panther to his list of victims.

Superlek now heads to another super fight when he challenges two-sport king Jonathan Haggerty for the ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title at ONE 168: Denver on Friday at Ball Arena.

Superlek says he'll have multiple plans of attack when he takes on Jonathan Haggerty

Superlek already showed his improvisation when he beat Rodtang in Bangkok, and he believes he'll use that ability one more time when he takes on Haggerty in Denver.

'The Kicking Machine' expects Haggerty, who also holds the ONE bantamweight kickboxing world title, to employ a varied game plan in their super fight at ONE 168.

Nevertheless, Superlek said he'll have a counter for whatever Haggerty throws at him.

He told the South China Morning Post:

"I mean, as a technical fighter, of course, at a certain level [I can adjust]. I'm good at changing the game plan and improvising the game plans. And I'm expecting Haggerty to come and also just try to fix [and adjust] his game plan when he faces me as well."
