Sinsamut Klinmee knows that whatever he has endured throughout his life has fully prepared him for his biggest career opportunity in ONE Championship.
The rising Thai sensation will take on Regian Eersel for the inaugural ONE lightweight Muay Thai world title at ONE on Prime Video 3 this Friday at Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur.
Sinsamut is only two fights deep into his ONE Championship career, but he’s confident he can defeat Eersel and become the reigning ONE lightweight Muay Thai world champion.

During the ONE Virtual Media Day Faceoffs, Sinsamut said that life’s challenges are what molded him into the fighter that he is today.:
"I have passed many obstacles leading up to this point. There are so many obstacles that I’ve been through and I’m really motivated and disciplined. I’m looking at the world championship.”
The Muay Thai star was born into a family of fighters but he didn’t just live his life inside the ring. While his contemporaries spent their whole lives studying ‘The Art of Eight Limbs’, Sinsamut took a detour and got himself drafted into the Thai armed forces when he was 21 years old.
His time in the military, however, hindered his Muay Thai development but the desire to improve on his craft remained with Sinsamut as he transitioned to boxing.
Standing at six feet tall, Sinsamut was too tall for his fellow servicemen, but "The Sweet Science" offered him the opportunity to develop into a more well-rounded martial artist.
In an interview with ONE Championship, Sinsamut Klinmee said:
“At first, I wanted to fight in Muay Thai, but there was no division for me to fit in, so I decided to switch to boxing. Training at the barracks made me a lot tougher and unyielding. They taught me how to be disciplined and focused. After I won so many times, the army sent me to join the national boxing camp.”
Sinsamut Klinmee wants to continue his family’s legacy
Sinsamut Klinmee was born into a family of fighters, and he knows that capturing the ONE lightweight Muay Thai world title will add unprecedented prestige to his family’s name.
The 26-year-old saw his uncles Yokthai Sit-Or, Rambaa Somdet, and Tappaya Sit-Or capture Muay Thai world titles under WBC and boxing gold under WBA.
His biggest inspiration, though, is his older brother Sudsakorn Sor Klinmee. Sudsakorn was Sinsamut’s mentor and was the one who constantly pushed him down the path of Muay Thai.
Sunsamut Klinmee said during the same interview:
“My dad was a fighter. He was a champion. My entire family, all champions. They set an example, and that’s what I’d like to follow.”
Sinsamut Klinmee, though, will have to battle through one of the greatest strikers of his generation. Eersel is 7-0 in ONE Championship and has held the ONE lightweight kickboxing world title since May 2019.
