“I am ready for him anywhere” - Stephen Loman prepared to fight Bibiano Fernandes no matter where action leads

Filipino MMA rising star and ONE bantamweight contender Stephen Loman might be just one win away from receiving his first-ever world title shot in ONE Championship.

The fighter he needs to beat to receive it, however, is not going to be just any fighter. At ONE on Prime Video 4, Loman will face former ONE bantamweight world champion, Bibiano 'The Flash' Fernandes.

This is undoubtedly going to serve as a daunting task for 'The Sniper', especially since it's just his third bout in the promotion.

Fernades, aside from being the most dominant ONE world champion ever, is also a multi-time BJJ world champion who has used his grappling to full effect inside the circle.

Simply put, once the fight hits the ground, 'The Flash' is not a man to be trifled with. Loman, however, is prepared to face Fernandes wherever the fight goes.

In an interview with ONE Championship, Stephen Loman spoke about his preparations for the former ONE bantamweight king:

"I am ready for him anywhere. He’s dangerous in all aspects, so I’ve worked on all of my game. I am not underestimating him and taking him lightly. I know the magnitude of this fight and I know what it can do for my career. I’m very close to the belt, and I won’t waste this opportunity."

Loman and Fernandes are in different places in their respective careers at the moment. Loman is on the rise and is looking at a possible world title shot soon.

Fernandes, on the other hand, after nearly a decade of holding the strap, might be facing his final run at gold. Two differently motivated fighters, both very much willing to do anything to win come November 18.

In a separate interview with ONE Championship, Stephen Loman explained how he is not underestimating Bibiano Fernandes despite the latter being perceived to be in the twilight of his career.

Stephen Loman said:

"This is no doubt the biggest fight of my career. If I can beat a legend like Bibiano Fernandes, it will prove to everyone that Team Lakay fighters are world class. [Former ONE bantamweight world champion] Kuya Kevin [Belingon] has done it in the past, now it’s my turn. I will beat him."

Former ONE bantamweight world champion and Loman's Team Lakay teammate, Kevin 'The Silencer' Belingon, has faced Bibiano Fernandes four times in one of the greatest rivalries in ONE Championship history. He undoubtedly has valuable insight into how to beat 'The Flash', since he was able to do so in the past.
