While there's a lot to love about Anissa Meksen's fundamentally sound fighting style, Jackie Buntan believes she uncovered some discrepancies to exploit.
The Filipino-American fan-favorite paid close attention to atomweight kickboxing world champion Phetjeeja Lukjaoporongtom's masterful performance against Meksen at ONE Friday Fights 46 last year.
'The Queen' used brilliant distance management to land her beautiful punch combos and never allowed the Algerian-French to get her groove across five rounds.
It just so happens that Buntan is also capable of such style. She plans to execute a similar gameplan against Meksen this coming Nov. 8 at ONE 169 inside Bangkok's Lumpinee Stadium to claim the inaugural ONE women's strawweight kickboxing crown.

The Boxing Works affiliate told Sportskeeda MMA in an exclusive interview:
"Yeah, I definitely watched that fight given it was her last fight too, her most recent one. Yeah, I saw a lot of strengths on Phetjeeja’s end and I saw a lot of weaknesses on Anissa’s end. I also have an idea of how Anissa moves, kind of her thought process behind her movement."
Finding a way to slow down Meksen's high-octane offense will be much easier said than done, but it seems that Jackie Buntan is definitely up for the task.
Anissa Meksen says she's in the best shape of her career ahead of Jackie Buntan clash
Anissa Meksen may be nine years older than the 27-year-old Jackie Buntan but insists that her opponent's youth won't be much of a factor.
A big part of 'C18's success over the years comes from her willingness to put in the hard work behind closed doors.
As such, Meksen enters this pivotal match for 26 pounds of gold with all the confidence in the world.
The multi-time world champion said in a ONE Championship interview:
"I will win. I’ve trained hard now for one month and a half. I’m in the best shape, and I’m ready to fight. I have pushed a lot during every training session. It’s my time.”
