ONE bantamweight MMA world champion Fabricio Andrade is delighted to see Kwon Won Il work on his game after succumbing to the Brazilian's power in June 2022. Be that as it may, Andrade does not think it will be enough to end his reign at ONE 170 on Friday, Jan. 24.
'Wonder Boy' made it clear during the pre-event press conference that Kwon will leave the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand, empty-handed. He declared:
"I think after he lost that fight, he went back and he made a lot of improvements. And he showed that in his last three fights. He was able to finish all his last three opponents. So he showed that he's improving, and especially on his grappling."
He continued:

"He was able to finish his fight on the ground and pound in his last fight. So he definitely showed a lot of improvements. But I think I am still better than him."

Andrade has not hesitated to compliment Kwon's skills in recent weeks, mainly highlighting his revamped ground game. However, his unshakeable confidence entering their 145-pound MMA world title tilt indicates his eagerness to finish the South Korean knockout artist again.

Fabricio Andrade grateful to have spent time away from competition
Fabricio Andrade missed the entirety of 2024 to focus on recovering from his injuries and spending time with his family in Brazil, which he greatly appreciates.
Speaking recently with the promotion, the Evolve MMA and Tiger Muay Thai affiliate shared:
"I also evolved as a person, as a human being, and as an athlete. This evolution as a human being was very important for me, for me to better understand what I want to do and where I want to go."
