Kana Morimoto is motivated to face "stronger opponents" in ONE Championship.
At ONE Friday Fights 92, Japanese superstar Kana will make her promotional debut. The 32-year-old striker is a former K-1 women's flyweight world champion who also won the promotion's 2019 Flyweight Grand Prix.
Kana has proven her world-class skills in K-1, but she's ready to showcase herself on ONE's global platform. During the ONE Friday Fights 92 press conference, the Japanese kickboxer had this to say about her fighting career:
"I know that I’ve been a champion in K-1, and that’s been great. But I still want to face stronger opponents and I know that they are in ONE Championship."

Kana looks to make a statement against Anissa Meksen
Kana Morimoto won't waste any time before testing herself in ONE Championship. At Friday's event, the Japanese striker will face Anissa Meksen, a former seven-time kickboxing and Muay Thai world champion in other promotions.
Meksen is coming off consecutive world title kickboxing losses against Phetjeeja Lukjaoporongtom and Jackie Buntan, making her extra motivated to secure a win. Meanwhile, Morimoto plans to put those champions on notice by taking out Meksen.
Meksen vs. Morimoto will feature extra tension due to their history. Four years ago, the female strikers trained together for a few weeks. Following the collaboration, Morimoto called out Meksen for a fight, which the latter found disrespectful.
At ONE Friday Fights 92, the atomweights will clash in a matchup with the potential for Fight of the Night honors.
