Jonathan Haggerty knew victory was in his grasp the moment he sent Fabricio Andrade to the canvas.

The ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion couldn't let a golden opportunity slip away at ONE Fight Night 16 last year, where he took on the bantamweight MMA kingpin in a kickboxing showdown.

With the then vacant 145-pound kickboxing crown on the line, Haggerty knew he had to bring his A-Game against the sensational 'Wonder Boy.'

After a strong opening round, 'The General' went for the kill in the second after landing a gorgeous head kick that shook Andrade's equilibrium.

Jonathan Haggerty recalled his superstar-making moment on his personal YouTube page. He said:

"I knew I could get him out of there, so I was just rushing forward. I remember he wasn't going down. I was giving him flurries of punches. He wasn't going down right here. So I started chasing him. I just thought to myself, I need to relax now, because I'm going to tire myself out."

With Andrade visibly dazed, Haggerty unleashed a hellacious one-two combo to etch his name in the history books as a two-sport world champion. He added:

"Then I started picking him off, taking my time, catching him again, and as he was going back, boom. That's when I caught him. And I don't think he recovered from that. He got up too soon, way too soon."

Jonathan Haggerty can score the biggest win of his career at ONE 168

Jonathan Haggerty has looked incredibly impressive in his last three outings, against Nong-O Hama, Fabricio Andrade, and Felipe Lobo respectively.

'The General' now has sights on rectifying a previous setback at the hands of Superlek Kiatmoo9. The British bomber can exact revenge in the main event of ONE 168: Denver on Sept. 6 at the Ball Arena.

A win over the red-hot Superlek, who is on a ten-fight winning streak, will no doubt catapult Haggerty's stock to unprecedented heights.

Apart from leaving with the bantamweight Muay Thai gold, the victor of this gargantuan showdown may very well solidify his claim as the best striker in the world, pound-for-pound.

Tickets for ONE 168: Denver are available via Ticketmaster.
