Liam Harrison believes ring rust isn't something he'd need to overcome as he gears up for his ONE Championship return – slightly over two years since he last competed on the global stage.

'Hitman' sustained a cruel injury blow during his world title bid against then-bantamweight Muay Thai ruler Nong-O Hama at ONE on Prime Video 1 in August 2022, and he's spent every single day focused on his race to fitness since.

Speaking to the South China Morning Post, the Bad Company martial artist said:

"I feel good in training. I'm having no problems in training. My sharpness, my timing, it's all there. I don't think ring rust is going to be an issue."

Now that he's cleared every obstacle on his road to recovery, Liam Harrison only has one last hurdle to complete his comeback – overcome Seksan Or Kwanmuang in their epic legend vs. legend matchup at ONE 168: Denver inside Ball Arena on September 6.

He lock horns against the Thai legend in a 140-pound catchweight Muay Thai matchup, looking for his third promotional victory. Seksan, meanwhile, aims to steer himself back into the winner's column after absorbing a unanimous decision loss to Yutaro Asahi at ONE Friday Fights 58 this past April.

Liam Harrison wants to be the first to sleep Seksan in ONE Championship

If ring rust is eliminated, fans can expect another trademark performance from the multi-time Muay Thai world champion.

For his part, Liam Harrison knows he'd have to work hard to make that happen. And he's game to be the first man to hand the ONE Friday Fights product a first knockout loss under the promotional spotlight.

The 38-year-old told ONE Championship:

"I'm looking to be the first guy to knock him out in ONE Championship. Only one person has stopped Seksan before, and that was years ago. No one else has come close to looking like doing it."

Active Amazon Prime Video subscribers in the United States and Canada can catch the entire card live in U.S. primetime for free. Tickets for ONE 168: Denver are available on Ticketmaster.
