Johan Ghazali didn't have a perfect year in 2024 but he's looking to turn that around early on in the new year.
'Jojo' was one of the promotion's breakout stars in 2023, having really announced his arrival in ONE Championship.
In 2024, he made just two appearances and suffered his first loss against Nguyen Tran Duy Nhat at ONE 167 in June.
The fight showed that whilst he is an exciting rising contender, he still has a lot to learn but this hasn't discouraged him.

In fact, Johan Ghazali believes that if anything, his self confidence has continued to climb, especially after his first round knockout win over Josue Cruz at ONE 168: Denver last September.
He's now coming into a huge test at ONE 170, where he will face off with Johan Estupinan in a flyweight Muay Thai tussle at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.
Ghazali will need to be at the top of his game on Jan. 24. That said, he's not expecting anything less, as he revealed in a recent exclusive interview with Sportskeeda MMA:
"Speaking of my confidence, I think it's up there, I'd rate it a perfect ten out of ten. The confidence to win this fight and the confidence to perform to the best of my abilities. I can't wait."
Johan Ghazali can turn a corner in this fight
Johan Ghazali has proven himself to be an incredibly exciting and dangerous striker who puts a huge amount of pressure on his opponents.
In his loss at ONE 167, it showed how an opponent who can handle that constant pace and output might be able to defeat the teenage phenom.
Johan Estupinan is also a super dangerous and explosive competitor but he has shown that in some incredible wars, he can dig deep in order to prevail.
That gives Ghazali the opportunity to show in this fight that he can beat an opponent who won't crumble when they're forced to engage with him.
