Popular analyst and former UFC fighter Kenny Florian recently shared his take on the upcoming fight between Stephen Thompson and Kevin Holland.
On a recent episode of the Anik & Florian Podcast, Florian and co-host Jon Anik discussed the upcoming UFC Orlando event. The two also made their picks from the headliner between Thompson and Holland.
Florian commended 'Trailblazer' for the improvement he has shown in the promotion so far. However, the analyst is far from convinced that the Texas fighter has the ability to pose a threat to Thompson.
Florian believes that 'Wonderboy' has gained enough experience fighting in the promotion and feels that none of Holland's tactics will pose a problem for the No.6-ranked welterweight:

"I don't see Kevin Holland being a strong enough takedown guy to be a threat to 'Wonderboy' [Thompson]. 'Wonderboy' has gone against guys that are better takedown artists and have been able to stand on the feet... I don't think his time is up yet."
Florian added:
"I think 'Wonderboy' is going to be able to outpoint him. I think that his ability to find angles and catch and confuse Kevin Holland is still there... I don't think any of the approaches, the tactics from Kevin Holland is going to pose a problem that Stephen 'Wonderboy' Thompson hasn't seen yet."

Stephen Thompson discusses his upcoming fight against Kevin Holland
Stephen Thompson will make his 19th appearance for the promotion when he faces Kevin Holland in the main event of the upcoming UFC on ESPN 42. The fight will take place on December 3, 2022, at the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida, USA.
In a recent interview with Submission Radio, Stephen Thompson previewed his fight against 'Trailblazer' and claimed it to be a "fun fight":
"I think it's a fun fight because this is the kind of fight that excites me. This guy [Holland] is good everywhere. He's got a lot of submission under his belt... He's not the type of guy to initiate wrestling, not saying that he doesn't have good wrestling but he's not the type of guy that goes for it. He's more like a defensive grappler."
