ONE bantamweight kickboxing world champion Jonathan Haggerty has fought a who's who list of fighters throughout his career. However, he never shared the circle with British Muay Thai legend Liam Harrison.
During a sit-down interview on the Winners Talking Podcast, 'The General' explained why he and Harrison never got the chance to trade leather:
"We never really crossed paths, you know, because he was always a heavier weight. In the UK, I was fighting at 57-59 kilos, he was fighting at 65. And in ONE Championship, he was having his fights. I was at 61 and he was at 65 [kilos]. But he's sorta at the back end of his career. And I don't think he wanted to take that chance. I was a young and up-and-coming fighter, doesn't make sense."

Both 'Hitman' and Haggerty starred in marquee bouts at ONE 168: Denver on Sept. 6, inside the Ball Arena. The former faced fellow Muay Thai icon Seksan Or Kwanmuang, while the latter sought to defend the ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world championship against flyweight kickboxing king Superlek Kiatmoo9.
Unfortunately, the United Kingdom stars were finished by their Thai counterparts, making it a night they would both rather forget.
Though Harrison signaled his retirement after losing to 'The Man Who Yields To No One', the 39-year-old hinted at his return for one more match in ONE on his social media.
