Brazilian jiu-jitsu legend Marcus 'Buchecha' Almeida has broken down how Fabricio Andrade can dethrone ONE bantamweight king John Lineker.
During a recent interview with ONE Championship, 'Buchecha' was questioned about various topics, including the ONE on Prime Video 3 main event. The Brazilian detailed Andrade’s keys to victory against the pair's compatriot, saying:
“Fabricio is coming in a very good phase, he won all of his fights at ONE and deservedly conquered this chance for the belt. He has a larger wingspan than Lineker, and that might help him. I think he will control that distance, avoiding the Lineker game, which is more in the short distance playing the hooks. So, I think Fabricio will know how to explore this, and his greater reach will help him.”
Andrade vs. Lineker is a highly-anticipated main event due to the potential for a standup war. ‘Hands of Stone’ is powerful and aggressive, while ‘Wonder Boy’ has the speed and accuracy to finish any opponent.

Fightodds.io currently has the bantamweight champion listed as a -260 betting favorite. Both fighters have won all of their outings in the promotion, but that will change for someone at ONE on Prime Video 3.
'Buchecha' comments on the jiu-jitsu vs. sambo rivalry
The jiu-jitsu vs. sambo rivalry is heating up after Rodrigo Marello submitted Ruslan Bagdasarian in 15 seconds at ONE 161.
At ONE on Prime Video 3, Kade Ruotolo vs. Uali Kurzhev will continue the rivalry. When asked about jiu-jitsu vs. sambo, 17-time BJJ world champion 'Buchecha' had this to say:
“I think jiu-jitsu is more efficient than sambo. Not only more efficient than sambo, jiu-jitsu is more efficient than any other martial art. Sambo has a lot of focus on leg locks and jiu-jitsu covers everything, chokes, arm locks, leg locks, back control, mounts… jiu-jitsu, in any situation, has very good positions. Of course, sambo is very efficient, but jiu-jitsu has always been and always will be the most efficient martial art of all.”
'Buchecha' is a jiu-jitsu legend, making his opinion somewhat biased. Although he’s transitioned to MMA, it’ll be intriguing to see if the IBJJF Hall of Fame inductee will contribute competitively to the jiu-jitsu vs. sambo rivalry in the future.
