The fallout of Taylor Swift endorsing Kamala Harris has been exactly what most predicted it would be like. The effects made their way to the MMA world, where several American fighters have been giving their thoughts on the subject.

Most of the MMA community is on the side of Republican candidate Donald Trump, causing several members to oppose Swift's recent decision, even if it was expected. However, middleweight contender Chris Curtis took defence of the pop star, calling the "rage" against her "weird."

Curtis tweeted:

"I don't understand the Taylor Swift rage. She pointed out the reason for her endorsement and encouraged people to look into the issues for themselves while providing resources to register to vote. Why would you be scared of people doing their own research on the issues? Weird..."

Curtis has recently been more involved in giving his political opinions on social media but has not openly declared who he favoured in the 2024 US presidential election. Curtis was previously best known for being the best friend of Sean Strickland, an open Republican, though he has not directly stated if he shares the same political views.

The New York Times predicts that Swift's endorsement of Harris will have a significant effect on the election due to the 34-year-old's popularity. Per Forbes, Vote.gov had a substantial increase in site views immediately following Swift's move.

Is Chris Curtis fighting at UFC 307?

Since losing to Brendan Allen in the main event of UFC Vegas 90, Chris Curtis was expected to return to the octagon at UFC 307 against Kevin Holland. However, shortly after the announcement, Curtis admitted on social media to withdrawing from the fight due to an injury.

Curtis' injury would be confirmed as a foot fracture and he would be replaced by Roman Dolidze to keep Holland on the card. With his latest injury, 'The Action Man' does not have an estimated return date and will likely not be competing again until 2025.
