British Muay Thai icon and former ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title challenger 'Hitman' Liam Harrison of the United Kingdom has had a wild ride in his more than a decade long career.

The 38-year-old English superstar has been around the block, and then some, showcasing his talents all over the world. But it was the time he spent honing his skills early in his career in Thailand that he holds most dear to his heart.

In fact, Harrison says that his time in Bangkok was pretty wild, and he was often bruised, beat up, and just flat out broke.

Speaking to MMA TV in an exclusive interview, Harrison recalled a time that he was almost sent home packing with nothing but the clothes on his back.

'Hitman' recounted the ordeal:

"I used to bet on myself all the time to try and bump my money up. I wasn't getting paid money that much money, and I didn't want to go on. And there was a fight where I bet on my entire purse on myself, and I bet all the money I had, and I lost some points in a close fight. I had no money."

Harrison continued:

"I didn't know what to do and I was banged up. It was either go back home with my tail between my legs, my coach said, what are you going to do? I said, well, I need to fight again, anyway. I know I've booked you on in three days, so I had to fight and then three days later I had to fight again. Luckily, I knocked the guy out in the fight after the (one) I lost, and I got some money back and paid my rent, and I could stay a bit longer."
