A big reason why MMA legend Demetrious Johnson won't unretire anytime soon is because he managed his finances accordingly.
'Mighty Mouse,' who exhibited incredible fight IQ throughout his illustrious career, was also quite savvy off of it, especially when it came to keeping his career earnings in check over the years.
In an interview with MMA Fighting, Johnson credited fellow mixed martial arts legend Georges St-Pierre for helping him set things straight when it came to planning out his retirement from professional fighting.
"When I talked to GSP, he was somebody who inspired me to retire and someone who still inspires me to this day. He was like, ‘If you were to come back to fight and make money, there are millions of ways to make money.’"

The former ONE flyweight MMA world titleholder added:
"And I’m realizing that now. And I’ve always been smart with my finances, and yeah there’s no point in coming back and fighting."
It hasn't been long since Demetrious Johnson walked away from the sport in his touching send-off at ONE 168: Denver last September.
Then again, considering he's one of the most universally loved figures in combat sports, fans have been wondering if he'll overturn that decision.
Looks like the 38-year-old icon is quite satisfied with his post-MMA life and will enjoy retirement to the fullest.

Demetrious Johnson believes a new generational MMA talent could emerge in the coming years
Demetrious Johnson is indeed one of a kind. The first-ever ONE Championship Hall of Famer is no doubt included in the Mount Rushmore of the best-ever to lace the four-ounce gloves.
While 'Mighty Mouse' is one of those rare generational talents that only come around once in a lifetime, he believes there could be another one like him in the not-so-distant future.
Johnson shared in the same interview with MMA Fighting:
"Mixed martial arts is still growing. There might be somebody who comes out in 20 or 30 years who might have the same intelligence as I had and who thinks outside the box when they fight and has the same athleticism, so we’ll see."
