Kwon Won Il is not the same fighter Fabricio Andrade faced nearly three years ago.
On Friday, January 24, Kwon will get a long-awaited opportunity to avenge his last loss inside the Circle when he challenges reigning and defending ONE bantamweight MMA world champion Fabricio Andrade in one of three massive world title fights at ONE 170 inside the iconic Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.
It will be the second-ever meeting between the two bantamweight stars, the first coming at ONE 158 in June 2022. On that night, 'Wonder Boy' scored a vicious body-kick knockout just 62 seconds into their scrap.

Now, they'll run it back on martial arts' biggest global stage, but both fighters know that things will be a lot different this time around.
“I heard Andrade say I’ve become a different beast from before, and he’s absolutely right," Kwon told the promotion. "I think he’s analyzed me thoroughly because I’ve really become different compared to before. I think I’m really different than before, so he’s really got his facts right about me.”
Kwon Won Il has been on a tear since coming up short against Fabricio Andrade
If you need an example of how far Kwon Won Il has come since losing to Fabricio Andrade, you need only look at his last three outings inside the Circle.
'Pretty Boy' quickly bounced back from his loss against 'Wonder Boy' with a third-round finish against British standout Mark 'Tyson' Abelardo just five months later at ONE 163 in Singapore. He followed that up with another highlight-reel knockout against top-five-ranked bantamweight MMA contender Artem Belakh at ONE Fight Night 11.
In his most recent appearance, Kwon earned yet another knockout, this time against Mongolian bruiser and ONE Warrior Series contract winner Shinechagtga Zolsetseg at ONE Fight Night 18 in January 2024.
'Pretty Boy' pieced up Zoltsetseg, moving him to 6-1 in his last seven fights and setting the stage for one of the biggest mixed martial arts rematches in ONE history.
