Aung La N Sang isn't ready to lay down the gloves for good just yet at 39 years old. If it wasn't already clear, the former two-division world champion isn't in this game just to make a quick payday before riding off into the sunset.
Aung La has stayed the course and it has rewarded his dedication with an incredible career and great longevity. Even after losing his world titles, 'The Burmese Python' stayed strong in the face of adversity and kept working to get back to where he once was.
Aung La now finds himself in familiar territory for this stage in his career. The veteran middleweight will be taking on an exciting addition to the weight class in undefeated Shamil Erdogan.
Whilst this fight may be Erdogan's massive opportunity to elevate his stock, Aung La sees this as just another fight.

In a recent interview with the South China Morning Post, he spoke about his motivation at this stage and said he'll only stop when he no longer evolves:
"I don't know. Just put on some more good fights, you know. I wanna keep fighting until I don't improve any more in between fights."

Aung La N Sang continues to turn back the clock
It did look at one stage like Aung La N Sang was beginning to tail off in his career once his title reign had come to an end. However, his experience ended up being so vital for him as he turned the tide and started stringing wins together.
Aung La now finds himself on the cusp of one more shot to reclaim the gold if he can turn back the undefeated contender, Shamil Erdogan, who stands in his way at the Ball Arena in Denver on Sept. 6.
For Aung La, his career resurgence is still going strong and as he said himself, he's still getting better with each passing training camp and fight.
