Danielle Kelly is confident she can beat Mayssa Bastos.
For much of her ONE Championship run, Kelly looked damn near unbeatable, mopping the floor with every woman who stepped on the mat with her. However, on Aug. 2, 2024, Bastos shocked the world and scored a unanimous decision victory over Kelly, ending her unbeaten run and taking the ONE atomweight submission grappling world championship.
To this day, BJJ fans are still debating who really should have walked away with the 26 pounds of ONE Championship gold — many of them thought Kelly did enough to retain the title while others back the judges' decision to crown Bastos the winner.

Regardless of which side you stand on, Kelly truly believes she can defeat Bastos and plans on doing so convincingly this Friday (Dec.6) when the two stars run it back at ONE Fight Night 26 inside the legendary Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok. Speaking to ONE, Kelly said:
"I wouldn't say I don't care because I care a lot. I want to do better. I know I can beat her."
Danielle Kelly plans to come out aggressive against Mayssa Bastos at ONE Fight Night 26
To try and make her win as convincing as possible, Danielle Kelly plans to ramp up the aggression and never take a step backward, forcing Bastos to either engage or run. Kelly added:
"So yeah, I think the goal is to be more aggressive and just go after her in this match. I'll need to put the pressure on her, definitely, you know".
Going into her first match as a challenger rather than a champion under the ONE banner, Kelly carries with her 22 career wins with a slew of impressive victories over the likes of Mariia Molchanova, Ayaka 'Zombie' Miura, and Jessa Khan on martial arts' biggest global stage.
Will the Silver Fox BJJ star add another big name to her resume, or will Bastos prove that her first win over Kelly was no fluke?
Fans in the United States and Canada can watch ONE Fight Night 26 live on Amazon Prime Video on Friday, Dec. 6 in U.S. primetime.
