When Fabricio Andrade arrived in ONE Championship, he quickly ascended the bantamweight ladder with a highly impressive win streak.

Getting the win is always the most important thing but putting on a show and making a statement helps to accelerate the climb.

Andrade certainly did this with a run of three consecutive first-round knockouts over Li Kai Wen, Jeremy Pacatiw and Kwon Won Il which cemented him as the top contender.

Having become the world champion whilst remaining undefeated in the division, 'Wonder Boy' is taking a slightly different approach for his next outing.

By the time that he returns at ONE 170, it will have been nearly two full years since the last time that he competed in MMA and with that in mind, the reigning ONE bantamweight MMA world champion is looking to read the fight and take things round by round.

Fabricio Andrade told Sportskeeda MMA in an exclusive interview that he isn't looking to beat his former foe Kwon Won Il even quicker the second time around:

"I don't want to focus to put him out in the first or second round. I want to enjoy the fight, test his improvements, and try to get better myself."

This will only make Fabricio Andrade even more dangerous

Fabricio Andrade coming into this fight with an emphasis on taking things a little slower might give his challenger more confidence. However, it could also make the Brazilian fighter even more dangerous.

The divisional king is an elite striker who is excellent at reading opponents and picking the right shot at the right time.

He has never been the kind of competitor who goes out there and swarms opponents to try and put them away as fast as possible.

Not looking for the finish but delivering the final blow is something that Andrade excels in so this will be no different at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand, come Jan. 24.
