For reigning ONE featherweight Muay Thai world champion Tawanchai PK.Saenchai is not only about winning the title in his division, but also about taking on the best fighters in his weight class and proving that he can stand against any of them.
The young Thai superstar made his ONE Championship debut in May 2021 and in just a short time has ascended to the summit of his division and of the sport. He recognizes that the featherweight class is very deep and is looking forward to facing all the comers that will stand in his way.
He told ONE Championship:
“I like being in this weight class. It’s a popular one. It’s pretty massive. There are so many top fighters in the world who are in this weight class. I want to face all of these incredible fighters. It’s a way to prove to myself that I can stand among the top-ranking fighters.

Tawanchai, 23, seized the featherweight Muay Thai title last September over former world champion Petchmorakot Petchyindee, winning by unanimous decision.
He is set to make his first title defense later this month at ONE Fight Night 7 on Prime Video in Bangkok against No.2-ranked contender Jamal Yusupov.
Other fighters targeting Tawanchai’s title are former ONE featherweight kickboxing world champion and No. 1 contender Superbon Singha Mawynn, France’s Jimmy Vienot, Thai star Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong and Denmark’s Niclas Larsen, among others.
ONE Fight Night 7 will take place on February 24 at the famed Lumpinee Boxing Stadium. All the action from the event will be aired live and for free to all Prime Video subscribers in North America.
Tawanchai reveals the key to his victory over Jamal Yusupov
ONE featherweight Muay Thai world champion Tawanchai PK.Saenchai seeks to have a successful first title defense later this month, propelled by his inner drive to compete and prevail against the best fighters on the field.
The 23-year-old Thai star battles Turkish challenger Jamal ‘Yeniceri’ Yusupov in the co-main event of ONE Fight Night 7 on Prime Video on February 24 at the famed Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok.
It will be a homecoming for Tawanchai at the historic arena as he tries to extend his reign after seizing the featherweight Muay Thai gold over Petchmorakot Petchyindee last September.
Apart from his fighting skills, the reigning world champion is anchoring his attack on his dogged competitive fire to overcome the challenge from veteran punching machine Yusupov. He further told ONE Championship:
“The key in this fight is my inner fire. I’m hungry for the victory. I’ll never give up on anything easily.”
Tawachai is on a three-fight winning streak that culminated in his world title clash with Petchmorakot. Yusupov, meanwhile, has also been riding a three-fight winning run since making his promotional debut in November 2019.
