Johan Ghazali looks to avenge his brother's defeat against Johan Estupinan.

On Friday, January 24, flyweight Muay Thai prospects Ghazali and Estupinan will battle at ONE 170. The highly-touted strikers look to separate themselves in the stacked division, while other factors have created added motivation.

In December 2021, Estupinan fought and defeated Ghazali's older brother, Elias Ghazali, by unanimous decision at the IFMA World Championship.

During an interview with ONE, Johan Ghazali had this to say about wanting to avenge Elias' previous defeat against Estupinan:

"I want to get revenge for my brother since Estupinan beat him a couple years ago. This would be very good for my name and it will put me en route to being top five ranked in the flyweight division."

Johan Ghazali's older brother, Elias Ghazali, has fought in ONE Championship three times, leading to a 2-1 promotional record.

Johan Estupinan's twin brother, Jordan Estupinan, will make his ONE debut at ONE 170 against Jonathan Haggerty's younger brother, Freddie Haggerty.

ONE 170 will take place inside the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand. Friday's event featuring three world title fights can be seen via watch.onefc.com.

Other matchups taking place later this week are Tawanchai vs. Superbon 2 (featherweight Muay Thai world title), Fabricio Andrade vs. Kwon Won Il 2 (bantamweight MMA world title), Nico Carrillo vs. Nabil Anane (interim bantamweight Muay Thai world title), and more.

Johan Ghazali looks to prove he's the superior flyweight Muay Thai prospect at ONE 170

Johan Ghazali's ONE Championship tenure has featured six wins, including five by knockout. The 18-year-old also faced adversity in 2024, suffering his lone promotional defeat against Nguyen Tran Duy Nhat.

Ghazali is widely considered the future of the ONE flyweight Muay Thai division. The Malaysian-American superstar's next task is to prove he's a superior prospect to 22-year-old Johan Estupinan.

Estupinan has fought in ONE four times, winning three by knockout and one by unanimous decision. The Columbian striker last fought in October 2024, defeating Zakaria El Jamari with a second-round finish.

Estupinan has received plenty of respect from fans and fighters. With that said, a win against Ghazli at ONE 170 would take his stardom to the next level.
