ONE lightweight kickboxing world champion Alexis Nicolas said he is in kickboxing for the long haul and committed to making the most it as he gears up for another tough battle this week.

'Barboza' laid this down in an interview with ONE Championship ahead of his title rematch against former lightweight kickboxing king Regian Eersel at ONE Fight Night 25: Nicolas vs Eersel II on Oct. 4 at the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. He highlighted his dedication to the striking-only sport and the opportunity present for him in it.

The 26-year-old Frenchman said:

"I'm only 26 and I have a lot of dedication. I want to give my life for this sport. So I'm ready for the big, big war. Everyday I keep fighting, all the months I'm here. I want just to fight, bring some money and be happy."

At ONE Fight Night 25, Alexis Nicolas seeks to maintain the status quo in the lightweight kickboxing division with him on top. It will be his first title defense after ascending to the throne with a unanimous decision victory over Eersel in their first title encounter back in April.

The event will be aired live and for free to North American fans with active Amazon Prime Video subscription.

Alexis Nicolas says he wants to be recognized as the best with another win over Regian Eersel

Alexis Nicolas views his upcoming title rematch with Regian Eersel as a grand opportunity to further highlight that he is one of the best in the game right now.

He made this known in an interview with the South China Morning Post as girds for his marquee redo with 'The Immortal' this weekend in Thailand, saying:

"Yes, that's the plan, just to be the best fighter in the world in the best organization in the world. That was the plan since the start."

Nicolas has been on a tear since making his ONE debut in January this year, winning two straight, with the second in April a huge one as it netted him the ONE lightweight kickboxing world title at the expense of erstwhile divisional king Eersel by decision.
