Thai superstar and ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon seeks to keep doing his part in further elevating the standing of 'The Art of Eight Limbs.' 'The Iron Man' shared this long-standing push for the sport in an interview with ONE Championship, in line with his upcoming title defense at ONE 169: Malykhin vs. Reug Reug on Nov. 8 in Thailand, highlighting that as much as he aspires for more success, he also seeks to put the spotlight on Muay Thai.

Rodtang said:

"Everyone, please cheer me on. I want Muay Thai to reach an even greater level around the world. I am one person who will help promote Muay Thai as far as possible."

ONE Championship started as an MMA-only organization, but has incorporated other martial arts in its offerings in recent years, including Muay Thai, which has been well received by fans. Rodtang has been one of the faces of the sport since coming on board the promotion in 2018.

Rodtang defends ONE flyweight Muay Thai belt at ONE 169

Rodtang Jitmuangnon looks to sustain his success in Muay Thai by defending the ONE flyweight Muay Thai world title at ONE 169: Malykhin vs. Reug Reug on Nov. 8 at the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

It will be the sixth defense of the Thai superstar of the world title he seized from former divisional king Jonathan Haggerty in August 2019.

Rodtang has defended his belt against Water Gonclaves, Haggerty (rematch), Petchdam Petchyindee, Joseph Lasiri and Edgar Tabares, who he defeated last May.

The Jitmuangnon Gym standout was last in action in June, defeating Bosnian-Canadian striker Denis Puric in a catchweight kickboxing clash.

The Rodtang-Smith title clash is one of the four championship matches on offer at ONE 169: Malykhin vs. Reug Reug, which will be aired live and for free at U.S. primetime to North American fans with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription.
