Jeremy Miado plans to showcase the improvement in his grappling skills during his upcoming fight against Hiroba Minowa. Between 2019 and 2022, Miado was riding high with a four-fight win streak, all by KO/TKO.

Since then, 'The Jaguar' has endured a rough patch in his fighting career, as he's lost three consecutive fights, including a first-round submission defeat against the grappling-heavy Keito Yamakita last time out.

On July 5, Miado looks to return to the win column at ONE Fight Night 23 when he meets Minowa, who is also coming off a three-fight skid.

During an interview with ABS-CBN, the former fifth-ranked strawweight fighter had this to say about wanting to test his improved grappling skills against his Japanese opponent:

"Facing yet another wrestler is fine by me. I want to prove that my ground game is improving and I can hang with any wrestler."

ONE Fight Night 23 goes down inside the legendary Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

The July 5 event featuring number four-ranked Hiroba Minowa and Jeremy Miado can be seen live and for free by North American and Canadian viewers with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription.

Jeremy Miado looks to jump into the ONE strawweight MMA title picture against Hiroba Minowa

Jeremy Miado may have suffered three consecutive losses, but his presence in the ONE strawweight MMA division hasn't disappeared.

With a win against Hiroba Minowa, 'The Jaguar' could replace his upcoming opponent in the rankings and establish a path to a title shot.

In the meantime, the ONE strawweight MMA division must determine a definitive champion.

On August 2, former world title holder Jarred Brooks will battle Cuban contender Gustavo Balart for the interim throne. The winner is expected to face the injured Joshua Pacio later this year or early 2025.

Brooks and Pacio were supposed to fight in a trilogy bout following an unexpected disqualification at ONE 166: Qatar this past March.

Unfortunately, 'The Passion' underwent surgery after suffering a torn ACL injury, postponing the first defense of his new reign as the strawweight king.
