"I don't want to be in a room with you" - Ariel Helwani goes scorched earth on Jake Shields in fiery rant, declining podcast invitation

Ariel Helwani's feud with Jake Shields has just reached new heights. The pair have been at each other's throats for over 24 hours now, and it has peaked with Helwani taking aim at the former UFC welterweight on the latest edition of On The Nose. Helwani took the time to address the many points Shields made against him.

Moreover, he declined Shields' invitation to his podcast, instead upping the vitriol in response. Furthermore, Helwani also asserted his Jewish identity in the response, which is likely to aggravate Shields, who often spews anti-Israel rhetoric, especially as of late.

"I respectfully decline the invitation. If I would like to sit in a room across the table from someone who has the social skills of a drug addict on a three-day bender, I can just go downtown and check out the local crackhouse. I could do that. I could that Jake, and just hang out with those people. I don't want to be in a room with you, I don't want to be in a room with someone who spews the nonsense and the bigotry that you spew."

Not only did Helwani criticize Shields for the anti-Israel rhetoric and antisemitic conspiracy theories he usually espouses, but he also chastised him for constantly misspelling his name.

"But if you invite me next time, do me a favor, it's A-R-I-E-L, which is Hebrew for ʾÁrīʾēl, which is Hebrew for Lion Ari-El. God. Lion of God. Ariel, which is Hebrew, which is the language that The Chosen People speak in the great State of Israel, you f**king bigot. Learn it. Learn about it. Learn how to spell and leave me the f**k alone."
