Takeru Segawa isn't wasting any time getting into the swing of things.

The Japanese kickboxing icon just landed in the United States to start the California leg of his training camp in preparation for his flyweight kickboxing super fight against Rodtang Jitmuangnon.

Takeru and Rodtang will headline ONE Championship's first Japanese card of 2025 at ONE 172 on March 23 at the historic Saitama Super Arena.

Taking to Instagram, Takeru revealed he's back at the famed Boxing Works gym in Lawndale, California.

"Fight camp has started 🏃‍♂️🇺🇸 I will do my best to win," posted Takeru Segawa.

Although he has his home gym, Team Vasileus, in Tokyo, Takeru often travels to the United States to augment his training camps.

Boxing Works is the stable of ONE women's strawweight kickboxing world champion Jackie Buntan and former ONE atomweight kickboxing world champion Janet Todd.

The Lawndale facility has also been Takeru's home on American soil even before he made his ONE Championship debut at ONE 165 in January 2024.

Arguably the greatest Japanese kickboxer in history, Takeru is a former K-1 super bantamweight, featherweight, and super featherweight world champion and is the only fighter to hold three world titles in the promotion.

Takeru is coming off a sublime second-round knockout finish of Burmese knockout menace Thant Zin at ONE Friday Fights 81 and now looks to continue his momentum at ONE 172 in his home nation.

Takeru Segawa pledges his ONE 172 purse to help build a school in Laos

Takeru Segawa is undoubtedly one of the greatest champions in kickboxing history, but his pedigree wasn't done just between the ropes.

'The Natural Born Crusher' is also a humanitarian and was named the 7th Generation Tiger Mask to help spearhead the foundation of the same name in its charity drives across Asia.

Although he's yet to take on Rodtang at ONE 172, Takeru already promised that his purse from that super fight would be donated to help fund the construction of a school in Laos.

Takeru said in ONE Championship's announcement on Instagram:

"I have a fight against Rodtang, so I want to use that fight money to build another school in Laos."
