Thai superstar Rodtang Jitmuangnon has had trouble maintaining his weight within the flyweight limit of 135 pounds of late. However, he's assured that for his long-awaited showdown with Japanese kickboxing legend Takeru Segawa, he will make the cut and ready to battle.

'The Iron Man' shared this during the press conference for ONE 172, where he and Takeru are headlining on March 23, 2025 at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan. They will battle in a kickboxing super fight, which has been in the works since 'The Natural Born Crusher' joined ONE Championship last year from K-1.

Rodtang said:

"I will definitely be in perfect condition. Please look forward to it."

Rodtang missed weight in each of his last three matches. The most recent and costly was last month at ONE 169, where in the process he was stripped of the ONE flyweight Muay Thai world title he long held.

He went on to defeat Englishman Jacon Smith in their title showdown but he was ineligible to win the belt back as part of his penalty.

The two previous occasions he missed flyweight were against Superlek Kiatmoo9 in September last year and Denis Puric back in June.

ONE 172: Takeru vs. Rodtang will be available live and for free in U.S. primetime to North American fans with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription.

Rodtang admits Takeru a handful in kickboxing

Rodtang Jitmuangnon admits he has his work cut out for him against Takeru Segawa in their kickboxing super fight at ONE 172 on March 23 in Japan. But he said it will not stop him from showcasing his kickboxing skills and getting the win.

He touched on it during the press conference for ONE 172, highlighting how he intends to match up well against the Japanese superstar and give fight fans a fun and entertaining showdown.

Rodtang said:

"I've watched Takeru's fight and honestly, I felt scared, but it made me excited. I think his kickboxing style is strong. I'm really looking forward to March and want to show my kickboxing style to the world."

Rodtang has competed in three kickboxing matches previously under ONE Championship, which he all won by decision.

Takeru, meanwhile, sports a 1-1 kickboxing record since joining the promotion last year. He lost in his debut back in January to Superlek Kiatmoo9 by decision but bounced back in his next match in June, knocking out Thant Zin of Myanmar in the second round of their clash.
