Takeru Segawa is ramping up his preparation for a possible return to form later this year.

The Japanese kickboxing icon has been putting in the work during his training camp at Boxing Works in Lawndale, California, mere months after he suffered a horrific leg injury in his last matchup.

Taking to Instagram, Takeru showed that his power seemed to have returned to his left leg after he suffered multiple muscle tears during his matchup against Superlek Kiatmoo9 at ONE 165.

Takeru Segawa shared a clip from his training session, and in the caption, wrote:

"Next time I will definitely win, I'm in the mood."

Working with trainer Boxing Works trainer Sef Ramos, Takeru flaunted his devastating boxing and mixed in some unrelenting kicks on the pads.

Takeru has his home gym Vasileus Gym in Tokyo, but he often flies to California if there's a big fight coming up.

ONE Championship hasn't officially announced Takeru's next match in the promotion, but rumors surrounding a potential super fight against ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon have been swirling.

Rodtang was supposed to be Takeru's original opponent in his ONE Championship debut at ONE 165 this past January, but the Thai megastar injured his left hand during training camp.

Superlek ultimately replaced Rodtang on the card and successfully defended his ONE flyweight kickboxing world title against Takeru at the Ariake Arena in Tokyo.

Takeru Segawa says his left leg "has recovered considerably"

Takeru Segawa had one of the most bittersweet debuts in ONE Championship history.

Although he proved his worth in front of his hometown fans at the Ariake Arena, he still fell short in his bid for the ONE flyweight kickboxing world title against Superlek at ONE 165.

Takeru also suffered multiple muscle tears in his left leg due to Superlek's constant leg kicks throughout the 15-minute matchup.

Those injuries, though, seemed to have healed up and Takeru revealed on Instagram that his left leg is almost at full health.

"My left leg has recovered considerably, kick in to regain lost muscle strength 🔥," posted Takeru on Instagram.
