Canadian grappling megastar Dante Leon knows he needs to be the aggressor when he makes his ONE Championship debut against Bruno Pucci under lightweight submission grappling rules at ONE Fight Night 26 on Friday, Dec. 6.
The promotional newcomer discussed his strategy in an interview with ONE:
"I'm gonna be very aggressive. I'm gonna be very forward, but I'm gonna be very controlled and measured as well. There's gonna be nothing reckless. Things will be physical. I will come forward. I won't take no for an answer at some point in the match, and I will impose my game."
Leon continued:

"But my goal is to be in control. My goal is to look smooth. My goal is to look collected, control him, and put him away with something very controlling and very nice and crowd-pleasing for the fans."
Having won multiple gold medals as a Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ) athlete, Leon signed with ONE this past November, intending to conquer the promotion's submission grappling scene.
But with two-time IBJJF No-Gi World Champion 'Puccibull' as his first opponent in ONE, the 29-year-old will need to work extra hard to secure the victory.
Dante Leon expects tough showing from Bruno Pucci
Bruno Pucci has blended his BJJ knowledge with his MMA abilities since making his promotional debut in September 2013, which is why Dante Leon is expecting a tough outing at ONE Fight Night 26.
Leon recently told the Bangkok Post:
"My match with Bruno, I consider to be a new and challenging test. On paper, I'm an overwhelming favorite, but he has many things over me such as his experience with ONE, professional MMA, and submission grappling."
ONE Fight Night 26 will take place inside the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. The event will air live and free to all Prime Video subscribers in the United States and Canada.
