Jeremy Miado returns at ONE Fight Night 23 in search of a win to snap his current losing streak.

'The Jaguar' was at one point on the cusp of becoming a top contender in the strawweight division after putting together some serious momentum.

A win over Mansur Malachiev at ONE Fight Night 11 in June of last year would have surely seen him enter the top five rankings where a massive match-up would have awaited him.

However, after being submitted by Malachiev, consecutive defeats to Lito Adiwang and Keito Yamakita have left him going back to the drawing board.

In order to get back on track, he's needed to do a lot of digging to uncover what is going wrong.

It won't come as a surprise to fans who have seen Miado fight before that he is more confident when the fight is standing where he backs his striking to get the job done.

He told The MMA Superfan in a recent interview that one of the hurdles he needed to overcome was being too cautious with his striking in order to avoid over committing and being taken down:

"This time, I won't hesitate to throw my strikes. Admittedly, I was gun-shy in my last few fights because I was too worried about defending takedowns."

Jeremy Miado has been working hard on his confidence

The return of Jeremy Miado on June 5 sees him take on another top strawweight that will likely look to take him down.

A lot of his preparations to face Hiroba Minowa have been working on his ability to avoid bad positions and escape from them when necessary.

This ability to get out of submissions and back to his feet will only make him more confident in the fight which in turn, will allow him to let his strikes go.

Miado will look to bounce back at Lumpinee Stadium as Minowa looks to do the exact same.

ONE Fight Night 23 will air live at US prime time and is free to watch for North American viewers with an active Prime Video subscription.
