Ian Garry recently issued a challenge to a top welterweight contender as he continues his quest to earn a UFC welterweight title shot. The Irishman has made it known that he would like to fight the top contenders in the division and is looking to make a statement.
'The Future' most recently competed at UFC 303, where he earned a unanimous decision win over Michael 'Venom' Page. Despite the win, there was plenty of backlash on social media, with many in the MMA community not too convinced that it was a decisive win and Dana White even believing that it was a draw.
Despite the criticism of his latest outing, Garry recently took to his Instagram account and issued a challenge to No.3 ranked UFC welterweight Shavkat Rakhmonov. Championship Rounds posted Garry's comments, where he expressed interest in fighting 'Nomad' later this year and mentioned that he'd like to put his unbeaten record on the line. He wrote:
"December 2024. Undefeated vs. Undefeated. Let's make it happen! @shavkatrakhmonov94"
