Belal Muhammad represented his hometown at a press conference leading into the biggest fight of his mixed martial arts career. The number two ranked welterweight contender has a chance to capture the promotion's 170-pound belt on Saturday as Muhammad vies for Leon Edwards' hardware.
This takes place in the headliner of UFC 304 and Muhammad referenced another athlete that represents Chicago in his choice of attire for the pre-fight presser.
At the UFC 304 press conference, Muhammad evoked some basketball vibes when he donned the jersey of famous Chicago Bulls player Derrick Rose and dropped several photos on social media to showcase the fit. Rose is also Chicago-born and raised like Muhammad, having played for the Bulls from 2008 to 2016.
Via his Instagram account @bullyb170, Muhammad posted:

Belal Muhammad and his path between the Leon Edwards fights
Belal Muhammad will, as mentioned, face Leon Edwards this weekend and it will be a rematch with 'Rocky' over three years after their initial clash. Muhammad would receive an errant, unintentional eye poke in the second round of their March 2021 UFC Fight Night contest.
The first fight between the two was waved off and the matchup inauspiciously ended with a no-contest verdict in their previous main event clash.
The 36-year-old would bounce back and put together two more victories that calendar year over a pair of former welterweight title challengers. Both victories saw Muhammad win via unanimous decision as he bested Demian Maia at UFC 263 in June 2021 and Stephen Thompson at UFC Fight Night: Lewis vs Daukaus in December 2021.
'Remember the Name' then secured a standing TKO over the present-day number eight-ranked welterweight contender Sean Brady. This took place at UFC 280 late in the second stanza and saw Brady take his first ever loss within professional mixed martial arts.
The native of Illinois would then beat another former UFC welterweight title challenger and secured this victory in May of last year. Muhammad notched a unanimous decision victory at UFC 288 in a five-round co-main event affair over Gilbert Burns.
This would punch his ticket to not just a title shot but a chance for Muhammad to fight Edwards again and work towards a conclusive ending against 'Rocky' this time.
