Joe Rogan explains why he chose MMA over basketball and football for his commentary career
During a recent episode of his podcast, Joe Rogan opened up about why he chose to pursue a career in UFC commentary rather than focusing on sports like basketball and football. Rogan, who has become synonymous with the UFC, revealed that his lack of knowledge and interest in traditional American sports played a significant role in his decision.
Rogan explained that MMA is the only sport he truly understands and enjoys. He admitted to being unfamiliar with the rules of basketball and even struggling to follow the action during games:
"It’s the only sport I know, I don’t even know the rules to basketball and they blow that whistle, I don’t know what the f**k is going on. I mean I do watch fights but when I watch fights like, I don’t have to say, ‘Oh, this guy has a great question mark [kick], I already know what he does!"
