VanZant's Power Slap debut was met with skepticism from a lot of fans when it was announced. Despite that, the win marks a positive milestone in the 30-year-old's career as it was her first combat sports victory in nearly five years. VanZant parted ways with the UFC after a first-round submission loss against Amanda Ribas in July 2020.

She has since tried her hand at bare-knuckle fighting and made her boxing debut with a split draw against Misfits boxing women's middleweight champion Elle Brooke in May 2024. While VanZant's performance was criticized by a section of the combat sports community for being unable to defeat a relatively inexperienced athlete in Brooke, the win over Volmarans has helped her gain momentum.

Paige VanZant sees "future" in Power Slap

Paige VanZant has experimented with different forms of combat sports and she feels that she would like to continue fighting in Power Slap. Speaking at the post-fight conference after the win, VanZant said:

“I told everybody, and everybody should know that I am tough as hell. I’ve gone from the UFC to bare-knuckle boxing to boxing to Power Slap, I’ve done pro wrestling. I just want to compete. I had an absolutely incredible time doing this. I think that they’re gonna want me back absolutely, so I do see a future here. I just want to compete, and I want to live my life and have fun, show off how tough I am.”
