UFC action returns this Saturday, July 13th, in Denver, Colorado, with a flyweight main event featuring former strawweight champion Rose Namajunas and rising contender Tracy Cortez.
Namajunas, looking to solidify her flyweight contender status after a successful divisional debut, will face a last-minute replacement in Cortez. Cortez, originally scheduled to fight Miranda Maverick next week, stepped in for an injured Maycee Barber.
The opportunity has Cortez basking in the limelight, as evidenced by her recent Instagram post featuring photos from her first official UFC poster signing event. Sharing her excitement, Cortez captioned the post:
"OMG My face is on the poster ✨✨"

Namajunas, a two-time champion, seeks to solidify her contender status at flyweight after a successful five-round decision victory in March. A win over Cortez would likely put her in title contention for 2025.
Cortez, undefeated in the UFC with a 5-0 record, jumped at the chance to replace Maycee Barber in the main event. While this presents a significant step up in competition for the DWCS graduate, Cortez's confidence could be a factor.
Tracy Cortez opens up on facing self-doubt prior to seizing the opportunity against Rose Namajunas
While recently discussing her upcoming fight with Rose Namajunas, Tracy Cortez revealed a period of self-doubt she battled just before receiving the call. Stepping in as a late replacement for Maycee Barber, Cortez admitted to feeling emotional and questioning her career trajectory during an appearance on The MMA Hour:
"People might think I'm crazy but I was just in the car crying...and I was praying like, 'If this is for me, show me.' Like, I'm tired. So many things are going on in my life. So many things have gone on in my life, and I had a moment of doubt with my career. And right before I got out the car, that's when I got a call."
