Justin Gaethje could have his next in-cage assignment locked in as the former BMF champion referenced a high-octane competitor for Q1 of 2025. That individual in question is Dan Hooker and the potential prizefight may be going down at UFC 313.
Speaking on his YouTube channel about what he communicated to the UFC two to three months ago while specifically mentioning there was no official fight signed, Gaethje quipped:
"March was the date I was looking for. I know there's a fight Marcg 8 in Las Vegas so that's the one I told them I wanted to be on. I think they're figuring out fights right now but I'm certainly mentally preparing, physically preparing to fight on that date. I think it's going to be Dan Hooker but with the UFC, things can always change."
X users began sounding off about this rumored fight and the excitement was palpable among fans regarding the fireworks that this hypothetical bout could generate if these two were ever locked into a cage together.

Justin Gaethje potentially actualizing fights into reality
Justin Gaethje has been indicating his interest in the Dan Hooker fight for the last couple of months now and could be poised to manifest that into reality. The 36-year-old spoke with Helen Yee Sports toward the tail end of last November and was asked if there was any interest in a Michael Chandler rematch. To this, Gaethje quipped:
"I'm more interested in a rematch with [Charles] Oliveira or [Dustin] Poirier. I prefer something new... I think Dan Hooker, I don't know if [Alexander] Volkanovski is coming [to lightweight]."
Gaethje garnered a victory over Michael Chandler previously while Charles Oliveira represents a chance at redemption to tie up their series. Also, Dustin Poirier presents a chance at a tiebreaker bout with both men having one win over each other inside the UFC cage.
The Arizona native seems to have multiple options in front of him as Gaethje aims to rebound from his emphatic KO loss to Max Holloway at UFC 300 in April of last year.
