Tony Bellew believes Conor Benn will easily defeat Chris Eubank Jr. when the two clash.
'The Destroyer' recently made his long-awaited return to the boxing ring in September. On a DAZN undercard, he picked up a decision win over the lightly-regarded Rodolfo Orozco. Following the victory, he called out 'Next Gen'.
The two were famously expected to clash last Fall, on pay-per-view. However, Benn failed a drug test just days before the bout, causing it to be canceled. Now, a year on from the scandal, the two are reportedly looking to re-book the fight.

If the bout happens, Tony Bellew is expecting it to be a lopsided one. Speaking in a recent interview with Planet Sport, the former champion previewed the fight. There, Bellew confidently picked Conor Benn to win the targeted bout.
Despite Benn being the much more unproven boxer of the two, Bellew isn't the only veteran to pick him to win. Ricky Hatton recently said the same, and now it seems that 'Bomber' shares much of the same beliefs.
In fact, Bellew believes that Benn can dispatch his rival in less than five rounds. In the interview, the former cruiserweight champion stated:
“Conor Benn knocks him out inside five rounds. Too explosive. Too young. Too quick. Inside five rounds, I don’t even question it. That wasn’t Liam Smith in the rematch.”
Chris Eubank Jr. reveals target date for Conor Benn bout
If it's up to Chris Eubank Jr., he would love to face Conor Benn in December.
For 'Next Gen', it's been a strange 12 months, to put it mildly. He was set to face 'The Destroyer' last Fall, as a massive favorite and riding some of the best momentum of his career. Instead, the bout was canceled.
As a result, he faced Liam Smith earlier this year and lost by an upset knockout. While he later avenged the defeat by a tenth-round stoppage, it's clear that Eubank Jr.'s stock has taken a bit of a hit in 2023.
One has to wonder if that's why Chris Eubank Jr. badly wants to re-book a fight with the returning Conor Benn. Speaking in a recent interview with BOXXER, the former champion revealed:
“There’s a lot of things that have to be smoothed out before we can announce a date for that fight. Would I like it to happen on December [23]? Sure. But boxing, as you know, there’s a lot of things that have to roll and work for a fight to happen, and it’s not all there yet. We’ll wait to see what happens.”
