Jake Paul recently announced that he has signed a multi-fight deal with the Professional Fighters League (PFL) and Javier Mendez believes it's the 'best move' the MMA promotion ever made.
Paul recently caused shockwaves throughout MMA circles as the highly polarizing YouTuber-Turned-Boxer declared his transition to MMA and signed with the PFL.
The 25-year-old also owns equity in the organization and will be competing in the Super Fight division. Additionally, fighters will earn 50% of the total PPV revenue, compared to the UFC, where some of the biggest stars earn under 20%.

In a recent interview with The Schmo, the head coach of American Kickboxing Academy (AKA) Gym was asked for his thoughts on Paul entering MMA. Mendez stated:
"I think the PFL signing Jake Paul is the best move they've ever done. Best move they've ever done. I think Jake Paul is going to bring more eyeballs, more attention to the PFL... Now, he's legit-legit... His work ethic is second to none as far as being a fighter, he's a true fighter."
When asked if 'The Problem Child' could someday become an MMA champion, Mendez replied:
"I don't know there. I just think he has the mindset of a champion, depends on what he wants. If Paul says he wants to do that, he has the potential to do it."

When Javier Mendez talked about Jake Paul being capable of becoming an MMA fighter
Javier Mendez has praised Jake Paul on previous occasions and the veteran coach once claimed that it wouldn't take too long for him to learn MMA.
Paul had previously expressed his eagerness to switch over to MMA during a pre-fight presser ahead of his rematch with Tyron Woodley. The YouTuber-Turned-Boxer also revealed that he wished to train under the tutelage of coach Javier Mendez.
During an October interview with MMA Junkie Radio, Javier Mendez praised 'The Problem Child' for his abilities and offered thoughts on how long it would take for the 25-year-old to start fighting in MMA. The AKA head coach said:
"If Jake Paul wanted to do MMA, I'm sure he can. He's a wrestler and now he's got boxing, and he's a great athlete. So I think getting him ready wouldn't take too long, but at the same time too, it depends on the level, you know, where you're going to put him."
