Fans had mixed reactions to Turki Alalshikh and Terence Crawford calling for a boxing match against Canelo Alvarez.
On Saturday night, the UFC held a ground-breaking pay-per-view event, UFC 306, inside The Sphere in Las Vegas, Nevada. Many high-profile celebrities and combat sports figures were in attendance, including Alalshikh and Crawford.
Over the last year, Crawford has publicly increased his interest in a super-fight against Canelo. Alalshikh attempted to utilize his endless resources to put the matchup together, but Canelo wasn't interested in working with him.
Crawford went live on Instagram during UFC 306 and shared the following conversation with Alalshikh about potentially fighting Canelo:

"Yo Turk, tell them we going for Canelo next." - Crawford
"Yes, let's go. Canelo, come on." - Alalshikh
"You heard it from him." - Crawford
"We are ready" - Alalshikh
"Just put me in the game coach, put me in the game. Canelo Crawford, the biggest fight in boxing. We stay ready though. We stay ready, that way we don't have to get ready." - Crawford
The Instagram live conversation was re-posted on X, leading to fans sharing their mixed reactions about Crawford calling out Canelo:
"is that not Kendrick Lamar"
"No one wants to see that, last thing Canelo needs is another mismatch."
"Bro wants a payday so bad"
"Crawford destroys that hype job fraudnelo"
For those who aren't aware, the Kendrick Lamar reference was brought on by a mistake from the UFC production team. Terence Crawford appeared on the screen at UFC 306 and the production team wrongfully labeled him as Lamar, a legendary rapper.

Canelo Alvarez defeats Edgar Berlanga in latest boxing match
Canelo Alvarez was taking care of business in the boxing ring while Turki Alalshikh and Terence Crawford were calling him out. Right down the street from The Sphere, Canelo was headlining an event inside the T-Mobile Arena.
Canelo's latest opponent was previously undefeated Edgar Berlanga, who endured a near-one-sided beatdown. The Mexican superstar dominated his way to a unanimous decision victory, extending his winning streak to five fights.
It's unclear what's next for Canelo, but Crawford isn't out of the question. 'Bud' last fought in August, defeating Israil Madrimov by unanimous decision to push his professional boxing record to 41-0 (31 KOs).
