Islam Makhachev accused of doing steroids from age 10 

UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev was recently accused of taking steroids from a very young age by one of his former opponents.

Bobby Green, who fought Makhachev at UFC Vegas 49 earlier this year, has hurled accusations at the Dagestani ahead of his fight against Drew Dober this weekend. Makhachev made quick work of 'King' in their clash, scoring a TKO victory in the very first round of the fight.

Bobby Green returns to competition after serving a six-month USADA suspension for testing positive for Dehydropiandrosterone (DHEA) in an out-of-competition test on May 16, 2022.

The American lightweight contender addressed questions concerning his failed drug test and subsequent suspension at the UFC Vegas 66 media scrum.

During the scrum, Green questioned why no one had looked into Islam Makhachev failing a pre-fight drug test before his fight with Drew Dober on April 16, 2016, at UFC on Fox 19:

"I was f**king around on my YouTube right, and I found this little video and it said Islam had a little trouble with drugs. But I don't see people talking about him. He was saying that when he first came over, his school that trained him in Russia, they just gave him vitamins. They've been doing this since.... who knows when?"

Green added:

"Imagine if you gave someone steroids from the age of ten, twelve, thirteen.... How strong would you be? He was really strong [and] it makes sense now... imagine if I could do that? "

After a hearing on July 2, 2016, USADA cleared Islam Makhachev and his suspension was revoked. Russian tennis star Maria Sharapova, like her Dagestani counterpart, was banned from competing for two years after testing positive for the performance-enhancing substance meldonium. Sharapova said she had been taking the medicine for 10 years to treat a magnesium shortage.

Additionally, Green also mentioned Russia's 2015 doping scandal to further solidify his claim that athletes in Russia are often backed by the government to use PED's in competition.

Islam Makhachev hilariously reacts to Paddy Pimblett's victory at UFC 282

Paddy Pimblett scraped out a unanimous decision victory against Jared Gordon in the biggest fight of his MMA career so far at UFC 282 this past weekend.

The UK MMA star famously picked Charles Oliveira to retain his lightweight throne against Islam Makhachev at UFC 280. To his surprise, the Dagestani dominated 'do Bronx' en route to a submission victory.

Speaking about the fight ahead of UFC 282, Pimblett claimed that while he was impressed by Makhachev's performance, he strongly believes that he would have put on a much better fight than Oliveira.

Despite his victory over Gordon, Pimblett has been subject to skepticism from the MMA community owing to the controversial nature of the unanimous decision victory.

In a since-deleted tweet, Makhachev reacted to Pimblett's comments and latest victory, aiming a slight dig at the Scouser:
