Islam Makhachev dismissed Arman Tsarukyan's claims of having a secret move in his arsenal which he plans on using against the reigning champion ahead of UFC 311. Makhachev brought up Tsarukyan's remark about finishing Charles Oliveira, which he failed to do, and advised everyone not to believe him.
This weekend's UFC 311 will headline the much-awaited lightweight title fight between Makhachev and Tsarukyan. The first pay-per-view event of the year will take place at Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California.
During the UFC 311 media day, Tsarukyan was asked about his secret move, which he hinted at using against Makhachev. However, the Armenian refused to share anything because he wanted to catch the Dagestani fighter off guard:
''Everybody’s asking ‘tell me your secret technique.’ Like how can I tell you? OK, high kick, I’m saying to everybody. I shouldn’t say [anything] about that secret technique. Everybody is asking the same questions. What is the secret technique? I don’t know, it don’t make sense to ask that question.''

Tsarukyan went on to remark that the technique would surprise everyone because it hasn't been performed inside the octagon:
''For sure, that technique you’re going to say ‘oh wow, what is that? Like an upkick the last fight. You’ve never seen when I’m throwing upkicks. It’s a rare kick as well.''

In response to a question about his opinion of Tsarukyan's "secret technique'' comments, Makhachev told everyone not to believe the 28-year-old. The 33-year-old also mentioned that Tsarukyan had previously promised to finish Oliveira in the first round of their fight at UFC 300, but he was unable to do so as the bout went to distance.
Makhachev said:
''I told you, don't believe what Arman says because last time he said he will finish [Charles] Oliveira by one round but they go all distance and he won by split distance, that's why don't believe him.''

Islam Makhachev isn't interested in a trilogy fight with Arman Tsarukyan
In their first encounter at UFC Fight Night 149 in 2019, Islam Makhachev prevailed over debutant Arman Tsarukyan via unanimous decision. Tsarukyan now has the opportunity to exact his revenge and capture the lightweight title by defeating Makhachev at UFC 311 this weekend.
In the aforementioned UFC 311 media day, Makhachev dismissed facing Tsarukyan for a third time saying:
''Third fight, I hope no. It doesn’t make sense, three fights with the same guy. I think new generation will come. We’ll have most dangerous division. The old guys – I believe this is one of the hardest weight classes not just in the UFC, but all of the sport. I need some new target.”
