Islam Makhachev appears to want MMA judge Joel Ojeda to provide an explanation for the peculiar scorecard he submitted for the Marlon Vera vs. Cory Sandhagen bout that took place last night.
The main event of UFC San Antonio saw two elite bantamweight strikers go toe-to-toe. 'Sandman' outstruck Vera in all five rounds, and many believe he won every round. However, judge Ojeda scored the fight 3-2 in favor of 'Chito', causing Makhachev to tweet the following:
"I want to see the judge who gave chito"

However, the lightweight champion received strong backlash from fans for his comments as his decision victory over Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 284 in February was referenced. Fans stated that the same judge who scored the bout for Vera must have scored his fight against 'The Great.' Makhachev defeated Volkanovski via unanimous decision, but the bout was incredibly close, and many felt that 'The Great' had won the fight 3-2.
Volkanovski consistently neutralized the grappling of Makhachev, while the lightweight champion found more success on the feet. In a fight that was full of surprises, this was quite expected.

"Same ones who gave you the nod over Volk I think"

One fan even poked fun at the rumors that Islam Makhachev cheated in his bout against Alexander Volkanovski by using an IV drip to rehydrate after weigh-ins. @DarbyOG82 posted this:
Dana White comments on Islam Makhachev's callout of Leon Edwards
Leon Edwards defeated Kamaru Usman via a unanimous decision at UFC 286 last weekend to retain the welterweight title. The Brit showcased arguably his best performance to date, dominating Usman for most of the fight.
At the post-event press conference, UFC President Dana White announced that 'Rocky' would face Colby Covington next. However, Islam Makhachev's callout of Edwards could make the promotion reconsider its announcement.
The lightweight champion posted on Twitter:
"I want Leon next, October in Abu Dhabi"

Makhachev appears to have double-champion status on his mind, but Dana White did not appear too enthusiastic about the possibility of Islam Makhachev vs. Leon Edwards. White said this at the post-UFC 286 press conference:
"Yeah, Colby is next. We're going back to Abu Dhabi on October 21st, but it definitely won't be Leon and [Islam]."
