Alex Pereira has taken the UFC by storm after his move to the light heavyweight division. Amidst several other attributes, Pereira's knack of fighting frequently has earned him a lot of appreciation from fans. However, Joe Rogan recently startled Pereira's archrival, Israel Adesanya, by mentioning how the Brazilian didn't back out even after sustaining an injury before his UFC 295 encounter.
The UFC scores of the Pereira vs. Adesanya rivalry may be leveled at 1-1. But the Brazilian packs a superior record if all of their clashes are taken into account.
Adesanya occupied the hot seat for the episode no. 164 of JRE MMA Show, where Rogan detailed how Pereira fought Jiri Prochazka at UFC 295 with a severe knee injury. He even reminded 'The Last Stylebender' of the role that 'Poatan' took after finishing off Prochazka. Rogan revealed that it was because Pereira didn't want to stand up by balancing most of his body weight on his right knee:
"He [Pereira] fights injured. Apparently, his knee was really fu**ed up in the first Jiri Prochazka fight. You know like when he stopped Jiri and he did a forward roll. He said he did that because he didn’t trust in on his right knee. It was fu**ed up in training camp, and so when he stepped off him [Jiri] he just decided to roll forward, instead of putting weight on his right knee."

Israel Adesanya wants Alex Pereira to continue his superb run in the UFC
The time when Israel Adesanya and Alex Pereira were fierce enemies seems to have elapsed. Today, both of them are more focused on their targets, with Adesanya even wishing the best for Pereira.
'The Last Stylebender' complimented Pereira's superb run in a recent video on his YouTube channel, FREESTYLEBENDER. Adesanya also mentioned that he wanted Pereira to stay undefeated for the rest of his UFC career:
"I just think 'Poatan's' on a f**king tear right now. He's just too good. Bro, I hope he retires undefeated. Not undefeated, but, you know, the rest of his career."
