Israel Adesanya hit back at his critics after the former middleweight champion appeared on a recent episode of the JRE MMA Show.
Although 'The Last Stylebender' is considered by many to be one of the greatest fighters to have stepped in the octagon, it hasn't come without its drawbacks. Over the course of his career, despite his run as a dominant champion, Adesanya has been trolled by fans and labeled "gay."
Whilst the Nigerian New Zealander has typically ignored the hate, he has clapped back at those who continue the false narrative about his personal life. Speaking to Joe Rogan on episode #164 of his MMA show, Adesanya said:
"I've been wearing pink my whole life. These guys have been saying I'm gay. Bro, if you think I'm gay, bring your mother around. Bring your sister around. I f*cking love that. Again, I don't care. It's never been an issue for me. I think people think because I never flexed my girlfriends or anything online, they think 'nah, definitely this guy sus.' Also because I'm nice and soft."

Israel Adesanya is expected to return to the octagon in early 2025, as he looks to begin another run at the middleweight title. He most recently suffered a fourth-round submission loss to Dricus du Plessis but reiterated his desire to continue fighting and return to the top of the sport.
Israel Adesanya expresses admiration for Conor McGregor's relationship with Dee Devlin
Israel Adesanya recently praised the bond between Conor McGregor and his fiancee, Dee Devlin. Speaking on the same episode of the JRE MMA Show, Adesanya and Rogan delved into the topic of relationships for MMA fighters, with Adesanya making a specific mention of the Irish UFC star.
McGregor met Devlin back in 2008 at a nightclub in Dublin. The pair have since been inseparable and are proud parents to four children.
While chatting with Joe Rogan, 'Izzy' highlighted the importance of fighters having stable relationships in their lives and used McGregor as an example. He said:
"Conor with Dee Devlin. That’s fu**ing cool. I love it. She’s still with him to this day. They’ve got kids together. That’s cool. Regardless of what the state of the relationship is now, she was with him when he was no one, and she believed in him. That kind of stuff is rare these days."
